The Mechanics of Faith

One of the pleasures of living in an area that has a relatively recent--but not too recent--volcanic history is coming across this mysterious phenomenon.
These standing stones have been thrown out as magma in a massive volcanic eruption. They harden as they fly through the air and often land in small groups miles away from the volcano.
Their similarity to the great stone circles, avenues and the dolmens of England and Brittany.
