In thinking about how our planet might be thought of by angelic and extraterrestrial races, I wondered what might be one of our unique distinguishing characteristics. How would extraterrestrials refer to us?
The Urantia Book tells us that our world is rather depressingly referred to as “The Planet of the Cross,” which of course is the prime distinguishing feature from the angelic administration’s point of view.
Somewhere in my reading of ET contact material over the years, I came across a reference to the fact that roses are unique to this world. I also believe that it’s been observed that roses grow most abundantly in the most polluted air. Both of these ideas — possibly interrelated — encouraged me to explore what roses might look like when transplanted to other heavily industrialized planets in our System.
